"Platoon of the Dead"

Films: Spectral (2016)

Alias: None

Type: Man-Made

Location: Civilized Area

Height/Weight: That of average humans.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: We've seen movies where idiots try to weaponize zombies, werewolves, and even dinosaurs. But now, we've hit new lows in trying to control the uncontrollable. This time, it's ghosts-I'm sorry, "apparitions". Same difference.

History: In war-torn Moldova, a bold experiment took place. Many test subjects were put through a process that killed them, but converted their essence into living Bose-Einstein condensate. Taking on ghostly appearances, these apparitions haunted the areas of Moldova, killing any soldier that dares enter. Those who are stuck there must find a way to defeat them or face death.

Notable Kills: They can kill you just by running though you.

Final Fate: Eventually, the soldiers come up with new ways to combat the menace, and some manage to infiltrate the lab just to activate the failsafe, and put the test subjects out of their misery.

Powers/Abilities: Intangibility, extreme cold, and the ability to ram through people with the force of a train.

Weakness: Plasma weapons, iron shavings, ceramic material.

Scariness Factor: 4-These guys may just look like walking CGI clouds at first, but then you fight them. You can't. You are at the mercy of immortal artificial ghosts that can just touch you to make you a dead man. Also, they have little in the way of humanity, so don't expect mercy.

Trivia: -Bose-Einstein condensate is the name coined for when a boson gas reaches a point where its temperature is close to absolute zero.

-This film was pitched literally as "Black Hawk Down" but with ghosts.

More like a close encounter of the zeroth kind.
When in doubt, throw down the bomblet.

Ghosts are such show-offs.
"I'm not touching you! I'm not touching you!"
